Exam-focused facts from the 2 November 2026 current affairs briefing.

Key facts

  • The Ministry of Rural Development has notified the VB–G RAM G (Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)) – Grievance Redressal Rules, 2026, establishing a structured, multi-tier, time-bound mechanism for grievances about the Scheme's implementation.
  • State Governments must set up the grievance redressal mechanism at the Gram Panchayat, Block and District levels, with designated Grievance Redressal Officers and oversight by the District Programme Coordinator at the district level.
  • Grievances can be submitted in person before the designated officer, via speed post with proof of delivery, through the Central Government-designated Digital Public Infrastructure, or by telephone, helplines or other State-decided modes.
  • Physical grievances must be registered on the designated Digital Public Infrastructure on the day of receipt or by the next working day, and no grievance can be refused registration due to format, language, manner of submission or procedural deficiency.
  • Enquiries must be completed within 7 working days of receipt, and grievances must be resolved within 15 days; complainants receive an acknowledgement with registration number, date of receipt and receiving authority's designation.
  • Unresolved grievances after 15 days are escalated to the next higher level and monitored electronically until resolution; appeals against orders are governed by Schedule I of the VB–G RAM G Act, 2025.
  • The Digital Public Infrastructure enables end-to-end tracking from registration to disposal, with electronic recording of enquiry, findings and action taken.
