Centre Rolls Out Upgraded Agri Welfare Portal for Farmer Services

Key facts

• Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the upgraded Agri Welfare Portal on October 20, 2026, giving farmers mobile access to government schemes, financial assistance and agricultural information.
• The portal is a single-window gateway to initiatives including PM-KISAN, AgriStack and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
• Farmers can access information on weather, scientific farming practices, seed and fertiliser availability, and agricultural market prices.
• The portal will also connect Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), agricultural scientists, researchers and startups.
• A nationwide training campaign through Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) will help farmers use the portal and other digital tools.
• The portal is lightweight and user-friendly, designed to work on basic smartphones and in areas with weak internet connectivity.
