New Delhi to Host CGIAR Science and Partnership Week 2027 at Yashobhoomi from April 12-17

Key facts

• The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and CGIAR announced on 30 October 2026 that New Delhi will host the CGIAR Science and Partnership Week 2027 from 12 to 17 April at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, with ICRISAT as the host centre.
• This is the second edition of the event; the first CGIAR Science Week was held in Nairobi, Kenya, in April 2025, and over 5,000 delegates are expected in New Delhi.
• India will push South-South cooperation, especially with Africa; ten CGIAR research centres work in India and the India-CGIAR partnership spans over 50 years.
• The announcement was made by Dr M. L. Jat, Secretary DARE and Director General of ICAR, and Dr Ismahane Elouafi, Executive Managing Director of CGIAR.
• CGIAR is a global agricultural research partnership of 15 centres working in over 100 countries, formed in 1971, with its System Organization headquartered in Montpellier, France.
• Event themes include climate-resilient and digital agriculture, AgriStack, mechanisation, millets, natural farming, water, soil health and public-private partnerships.
