EPFO Introduces WhatsApp Services and Automated Settlement for Small Inoperative Accounts

• Union Minister for Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya launched Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) services on WhatsApp.
• Subscribers can access their Provident Fund (PF) balance, the latest five transactions, and passbook information through the verified WhatsApp service.
• The EPFO initiated the automatic settlement of Aadhaar-verified inoperative EPF accounts with balances up to Rs 1,000.
• The automatic settlement process removes the requirement for subscribers to file individual claims for these accounts.
• Approximately one lakh accounts involving a total of Rs 5 crore are expected to benefit from the automatic settlement initiative.
