The sixth edition of the State of the FPO Sector 2026 report was launched by the National Association for Farmer Producer Organisations (NAFPO) in partnership with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
India's FPO sector has crossed 49,800 registered entities.
Nearly 80 per cent of women-led Farmer Producer Companies have more than 600 members.
Women-led FPOs have shown stronger survival and resilience after incorporation, with improvements in income and market access in several cases.
Low land ownership among women, estimated at around 13 to 14 per cent, and limited access to capital restrict their growth and access to formal finance.
