MoSPI Publishes Sub-Sectoral Trial Index of Services Production for August 2026 with Base Year 2024–25

• The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released the Index of Services Production (ISP) for August 2026 covering 19 sub-sectors, with base year 2024–25.
• In August 2026, Retail Trade recorded an ISP of 139.2, while Air Transport recorded the lowest index at 89.2.
• Other notable August 2026 ISP values include Accommodation and food at 145.3, Repair Services at 130.7, Wholesale Trade at 122.9, Banking at 125.0, Insurance at 107.9, and Telecommunications at 120.7.
• The monthly ISPs are being published on an experimental basis, and the Trial Series enables MoSPI to examine data quality, test its resilience and receive feedback from stakeholders and users.
• The indices for the Railways, Banking and Insurance sub-sectors are based on provisional monthly data and would undergo revision on an annual basis.
