  • The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) commissioned the indigenously built Fast Patrol Vessel ICGS Ajit at Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) on October 9, 2026, and it will be stationed at Okha, Gujarat.
  • The 52-metre vessel displaces 320 tonnes, carries a crew of 39, and is armed with a CRN 91 30mm naval gun and two 12.7mm M2 machine guns on remotely controlled stabilised mounts.
  • ICGS Ajit is designed for maritime surveillance, search and rescue, anti-smuggling and marine pollution response operations.
  • It is the seventh of eight Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessels being built by GSL for the ICG under a March 2022 contract worth Rs 473 crore, with over 60 per cent indigenous content.
