FIFA Picks USA as Host of First-Ever Women’s Club World Cup in 2028

• FIFA announced that the United States will host the inaugural FIFA Women's Club World Cup from January 5-30, 2028, featuring 19 club teams from all six confederations.
• The first seven confirmed participants are Arsenal FC (England), Club América (Mexico), FC Barcelona (Spain), Gotham FC (United States), Naegohyang Women's FC (DPR Korea), SC Corinthians (Brazil) and Wuhan Jiangda WFC (China PR).
• The remaining 12 slots will be decided via UEFA and Concacaf ranking systems, while FIFA will establish a club ranking mechanism for the other confederations.
• FIFA chief women's football officer Dame Sarai Bareman said the US was chosen for its success staging the 2025 men's Club World Cup and the 2026 men's World Cup, strong interest in women's football and elite sporting infrastructure.
• The United States also hosted the expanded 32-team men's Club World Cup in the summer of 2025.
