Equity Mutual Fund Inflows Surge 31% To Rs 38,306.55 Crore In September 2026 While Monthly SIP Contributions Reach Record Rs 32,490 Crore

• Equity-oriented mutual fund schemes attracted net inflows of Rs 38,306.55 crore in September 2026, up nearly 31 per cent from Rs 29,328.62 crore in August, as per Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) data.
• Monthly SIP contributions hit an all-time high of Rs 32,490 crore in September, up from Rs 32,297 crore in August, with SIP AUM at Rs 17.86 lakh crore at month-end.
• Small-cap funds led equity inflows with Rs 9,038.57 crore, followed by mid-cap funds at Rs 7,834.84 crore; together they accounted for about 44 per cent of total equity net inflows.
• Debt mutual funds recorded net outflows of Rs 1,83,155.76 crore in September, dragging the mutual fund industry to overall net outflows of Rs 1,33,214.25 crore.
• Liquid funds saw the largest debt withdrawals of Rs 95,743.20 crore, while money market funds recorded outflows of Rs 50,846.21 crore, together around Rs 1.47 lakh crore.
• ETF net inflows rose nearly 53 per cent to Rs 15,501.40 crore in September, with gold ETFs attracting Rs 4,450.61 crore, up about 71 per cent month-on-month.
• Large-cap funds returned to positive territory with net inflows of Rs 859.47 crore after withdrawals in July and August.
• Index funds recorded net outflows of Rs 3,614.03 crore in September, reversing net inflows of Rs 787.49 crore in August.
• Hybrid mutual funds turned negative with net outflows of Rs 456.68 crore against inflows of Rs 10,045.34 crore in August.
• Multi-asset allocation funds attracted net inflows of Rs 3,666.98 crore in September.
• Equity fund AUM fell about 4.3 per cent to Rs 37.54 lakh crore and debt fund AUM declined about 8.8 per cent to Rs 17.64 lakh crore in September.
• Around 63 lakh new SIP registrations were recorded in September against about 73 lakh SIP closures or maturities, taking reported SIP accounts to 10.06 crore.
