  • The Centre will launch Joint Squad for Health (JOSH) teams across 55 districts in 11 states to strengthen youth-led community mobilisation for tuberculosis (TB) elimination.
  • Union Health Minister J P Nadda will lead the national launch of the JOSH teams at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Thursday.
  • The initiative is jointly undertaken by the Union Health Ministry, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and the Ministry of Defence, bringing together Class-I officers, MY Bharat volunteers and NCC cadets.
  • JOSH teams will disseminate information on TB symptoms, prevention, timely diagnosis and treatment completion, address myths and misconceptions, reduce stigma, and promote Jan Bhagidari in the TB elimination campaign.
