Trai Unveils Platform to Rate Buildings on Digital Connectivity

• The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) launched a Digital Connectivity Rating (DCR) platform and a mobile app to rate buildings on digital connectivity, accessible at https://dcrp.trai.gov.in.
• Trai chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said the platform establishes a transparent, standardised framework for assessing digital connectivity readiness of properties, with publicly searchable ratings and verifiable digitally signed certificates via QR code.
• Property managers can register properties in public, government, commercial and private categories, submit rating applications, select a registered Digital Connectivity Rating Agency (DCRA) and track application status; the platform supports both constructed and under-construction properties.
• Field assessments will be done through a dedicated DCRA mobile app for in-building connectivity measurements, with data synchronised between the web portal and the platform.
• The DCR assessment considers fibre readiness, mobile network availability, in-building solutions and Wi-Fi infrastructure, with benchmarks for different property categories.
