Takeda's Dengue Vaccine Qdenga, Distributed by Dr Reddy's, Expected in India by First Half of 2027

• Takeda Pharmaceutical Company and Dr Reddy's Laboratories signed a distribution agreement on September 18, 2026, under which Dr Reddy's will promote and distribute the dengue vaccine Qdenga across India's private market for pediatric and adult vaccination.
• Qdenga is India's first approved dengue vaccine, receiving marketing authorisation from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) in July 2026 for individuals aged 4-60 years.
• Subject to completion of applicable regulatory processes, Qdenga is anticipated to become available in India in the first half of 2027.
• Qdenga (TAK-003) is a live-attenuated tetravalent dengue vaccine built on a DENV-2 backbone with structural proteins from DENV-1, DENV-3, and DENV-4, and is administered as a two-dose regimen given three months apart.
• Dr Reddy's will be the exclusive private-market partner for Qdenga, while Takeda retains rights to promote and distribute the vaccine in India's public market along with legal ownership and medical and brand oversight.
• Dengue cases in India have increased 11-fold over the past two decades, and an ICMR nationwide surveillance study found all four dengue serotypes co-circulating, with 1 in 14 patients infected with multiple serotypes concurrently.
