Pune Awarded 2032 UCI Road World Championships as India Prepares First-Ever Hosting

• Representatives from 117 national federations across five continents attended the Congress, where 19 championships across 11 countries were awarded for 2027 to 2034.
• India has never previously hosted the Road World Championships and is home to almost one-fifth of the world's population.
• UCI president David Lappartient said the championships could help grow competitive cycling and everyday bicycle use in India.
• The 2034 Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships will be held in the Dutch provinces of Groningen and Drenthe.
• The 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships will take place in Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc, France, from August 25 to September 5, bringing together 20 different World Championships, the largest cycling event organised to date.
• Five-time Tour de France winner Bernard Hinault will serve as an ambassador for the 2027 World Championships in France.
• Other awarded hosts include the 2030 BMX Racing World Championships in Valmiera, Latvia, the 2030 Gravel World Championships in Turnhout, Belgium, the 2031 Cyclocross World Championships in Benidorm, Spain, and the 2032 Mountain Bike World Championships in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada.
