Odisha CM Inaugurates Make-in-India Doppler Weather Radar at Sambalpur

• Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated a 'Make in India' Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) at Kainsir in Sambalpur on Wednesday, the third such radar in Odisha after Paradip and Gopalpur.
• The radar functions round the clock, providing accurate weather information within a 250 km radius and tracking weather systems up to around 450 km, benefiting 13 districts of Odisha and adjoining areas of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
• Union Minister for Earth Sciences Jitendra Singh attended the inauguration ceremony virtually, while Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari was present.
