NSTFDC-HPCL MoU to Build Computer Labs and Smart Classrooms in 29 Rajasthan EMRSs at ₹16.01 Crore

Key facts

• NSTFDC and HPCL signed an MoU to establish integrated Computer Lab-cum-Smart Classroom facilities in 29 Eklavya Model Residential Schools across 11 districts of Rajasthan.
• The project has a total budget of ₹16.01 crore, approved by the HPCL Board, with completion planned within six months of the MoU signing.
• Each school will receive four smart classrooms with 86-inch interactive flat panels, a networked computer laboratory with UPS backup, and 10 tablets pre-loaded with competitive exam coaching material, along with one year of internet subscription.
• The initiative is expected to benefit over 10,000 Scheduled Tribe students annually, with the 29 schools able to accommodate up to 13,920 students from Classes VI to XII at full capacity.
• The 29 EMRSs are located in Alwar, Banswara, Baran, Dungarpur, Jaipur, Karauli, Pratapgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi, Tonk and Udaipur districts of Rajasthan.
• The project is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the CPSE CSR theme of 'Innovative Livelihood Enhancement' for 2026–27 and 2027–28.
• NSTFDC will handle implementation and procurement, NESTS will undertake academic validation, and the State EMRS Society and school Principals will ensure site readiness and daily use.
• The MoU was signed in the presence of Ranjana Chopra, Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and T. Roumuan Paite, Joint Secretary, MoTA and CMD, NSTFDC.
