MeitY Clears AI Centre of Excellence in Bhubaneswar; Blue Cloud Softech to Contribute Rs 4 Crore Under IndiaAI Mission

• The proposed Centre of Excellence in artificial intelligence (AI-CoE) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha has received in-principle approval from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
• Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), an autonomous society under MeitY, will implement the centre under the IndiaAI Mission.
• STPI has confirmed Hyderabad-based Blue Cloud Softech Solutions as the industry partner, which will contribute Rs 4 crore and provide industry leadership, mentorship and strategic support to startups.
• The AI-CoE's initial application areas include healthcare, governance, disaster management, education and industrial use cases, with priority areas also covering oceanography, coastal fisheries, tidal and ocean energy, and women and child development.
• STPI has earmarked around 10,000 square feet of built-up space with supporting infrastructure for the centre.
