Madhya Pradesh CM Releases Botswana-Born Female Cheetah CCB-2 at Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary

• Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav released CCB-2, a female cheetah brought from Botswana, at Gandhi Sagar sanctuary on Sunday, relocating her from Kuno National Park.
• With CCB-2's arrival, Gandhi Sagar now has four cheetahs — two males (Pawak and Prabhas) and two females.
• Gandhi Sagar, spread across the Mandsaur-Neemuch region along the Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan border, became India's second cheetah habitat when two male cheetahs were moved there from Kuno in April 2025.
• On September 18, an India-born female cheetah, KGP12, gave birth to four cubs at Kuno National Park, a day after Project Cheetah completed four years; the births took India's cheetah population to 56.
• Project Cheetah began in September 2022 with the translocation of African cheetahs to India.
