Ladakh Launches World’s Highest-Altitude Floriculture Project in Leh

Key facts

• Ladakh has established the world’s highest-altitude flower cultivation project across 40 acres in Choglamsar and Stakna, Leh.
• The project features a total of 25 lakh flowers, consisting of 24 lakh Lilium and one lakh Gladiolus plants.
• The initiative was inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on September 17, 2026, to coincide with Sewa Diwas.
• The facility is designed to serve as a training centre for progressive farmers to promote agricultural diversification and entrepreneurship in the region.
