L&T Semiconductor Arm Debuts First Silicon Carbide Chip Platform at SEMICON India 2026

Key facts
- L&T Semiconductor Technologies (LTSCT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, unveiled 40 products at SEMICON India 2026, including its first silicon carbide (SiC) product platform and a fully designed-in-India BLDC motor controller.
- The key product is LTSCT's 1200V silicon carbide MOSFET platform developed for power conversion applications such as EV fast chargers, microgrids, solid-state transformers and traction inverters, alongside its first in-house SiC power modules and devices.
- The 40-product portfolio also includes a USB-C GaN charger and a Vision Camera SoC combining image processing with on-device AI acceleration, plus a Secure Identity Platform for e-passports, payment cards and national ID systems.
- In connectivity and RF, LTSCT is showcasing four indigenously designed modules for smart metering, automotive applications and digital payments, including the LCC43 Dynamic QR and Soundbox proof of concept for NPCI's proposed Trusted Device Layer.
- The showcase is presented under the theme "Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem" and is aligned with the Semicon 2.0 initiative, with applications spanning secure identity, surveillance, connectivity, computing and power electronics.
