Jayanti Prasad, Whole Time Member of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), has taken additional charge as its chairperson.
The central government appointed him to the post from September 13 onwards, succeeding Ravi Mital, a 1986 batch IAS officer who turned 65.
Ravi Mital was appointed IBBI chairperson in February 2022 for a five-year tenure or until he turned 65, whichever came earlier.
Prasad will hold the post until the completion of his IBBI tenure on November 20, 2026, or until a new appointee joins, in addition to his existing duties.
