Indian Navy Frigate INS Trishul Completes Alexandria Port Call Following PASSEX with Egyptian Navy

• Indian Navy guided missile frigate INS Trishul concluded a three-day port call at Alexandria, Egypt, on September 17, 2026.
• Prior to entering Alexandria harbour, INS Trishul conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with Egyptian Naval Ship ENS Bernees.
• INS Trishul arrived at Alexandria on September 14, 2026, and was escorted into the harbour by Egyptian Naval Ship Al Qadeer.
• During the PASSEX, personnel from both navies carried out coordinated manoeuvring, communication drills and approaches for replenishment at sea to enhance interoperability.
• India's Ambassador to Egypt, Suresh K Reddy, visited INS Trishul and interacted with the ship's crew during the port call.
• The ship's crew paid homage at the Chatby War Memorial in Alexandria, which contains 12 burials and bears the names of 19 Indian soldiers who died in ships sunk in the Eastern Mediterranean during the two World Wars.
