- Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday announced a 10-member Task Force to assess the challenges and feasibility of reviving Formula 1 in India.
- The Task Force is chaired by Niti Aayog Programme Director and adviser Yugal Kishore Joshi and includes joint secretary (sports) Kunal and FMSCI (Motorsports Federation of India) President Arindam Ghosh.
- The committee, which also has representation from the departments of tourism and commerce and the Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra governments, aims to create a roadmap so India can host a Formula 1 race in 2028.
- India last hosted a Formula 1 race in 2013, after which the race was dropped due to bureaucratic and taxation issues.
