India Dispatches First Consignment of 70-Metre Bailey Bridge Components to Flood-Hit Nepal

• The assistance follows devastating flash floods that struck northern and central Nepal on August 26, killing nearly 1,400 people and leaving more than 5,000 missing.
• India has sent over 130 tonnes of relief material and deployed 54 expert personnel, with the Indian Air Force operating at least eight special flights to deliver relief supplies.
• New Delhi provided tunnel and mud-rescue equipment, DNA kits, forensic equipment, temporary shelters, blankets, hygiene kits, solar lamps and medicines, while an Indian tunnel rescue team worked with the Nepal Army and a forensic team assisted in identifying victims' remains.
