Exam-focused facts from the 30 September 2026 current affairs briefing.
Key facts
- The FASTag Annual Pass crossed the one-crore subscriber mark in just over 13 months since its launch on August 15, 2025, as per the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
- The pass is for non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans with a valid FASTag, activated via a one-time payment valid for one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first.
- For financial year 2026-27, the pass fee is Rs 3,075, revised from Rs 3,000 with effect from April 1, 2026.
- The pass can be activated through the Rajmargyatra app or the NHAI website and typically becomes operational within two hours.
- The scheme applies at around 1,150 fee plazas on national highways and national expressways managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and is valid only at NHAI-operated plazas.
- After the one-year validity or 200-crossing cap is reached, the pass reverts to a normal FASTag account with standard toll deductions.
