CISF and IIT Kanpur Sign Two MoUs on Cyber Security Training and Anti-Drone Centre of Excellence

Key facts

• The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) signed two Memorandums of Understanding with IIT Kanpur on September 14, 2026, to strengthen cyber security and drone/anti-drone capabilities for protecting critical infrastructure.
• The first MoU provides a six-week residential Cyber Security Training Programme through C3iHub (IHUB NTIHAC Foundation) under a three-year framework, free of training cost, with each batch comprising 40 CISF personnel.
• The second MoU establishes a five-year collaboration for a Centre of Excellence in drone and anti-drone technology at CISF's Major Police Training and Recruitment Centre in Behror, Rajasthan.
• The cyber security training covers critical information infrastructure, sector-specific threats in aviation, power and nuclear sectors, digital forensics, incident response, disaster recovery, and emerging threats involving AI, deepfakes, IoT, cloud and Operational Technology.
• The Centre of Excellence will focus on drone and counter-drone systems, UAV operations, drone forensics, rogue-drone analysis, RF and micro-Doppler detection, integrated Counter-UAS systems and high-altitude operations.
• The initiatives support development of indigenous technological solutions in line with the objectives of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
