Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd., an Indian pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has introduced a DCGI-approved triple therapy combikit to treat Helicobacter pylori infection in adults.
The combikit combines Vonoprazan, a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB), with the antibiotics Clarithromycin and Amoxicillin, and is prescribed as twice-daily dosing over 14 days.
The treatment pack contains Clarithromycin 500 mg, Vonoprazan 20 mg and Amoxicillin 1000 mg, with the full 1000 mg Amoxicillin dose provided in one tablet.
H. pylori infection is associated with chronic gastritis and peptic ulcer disease and is recognised as an important risk factor for gastric cancer.
